I write middle grade and young adult novels. I am a graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts where I received an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. I love stories with heart – humorous ones (I was fortunate to win the FLYING PIG GRADE-A, NUMBER ONE HAM HUMOR AWARD Scholarship for my middle grade novel during my second semester at VCFA) and not-so-humorous ones.
I live on a ranch and have two dogs, two horses, a confusion of guinea fowl, and one cat. And one hermit crab named Lennie. I inherited him from one of my fourth grade students.
My favorite drink is water.
I love the smell of freshly cut hay.
I like to play in sprinklers.
Cinammon anything is the best.
I love trees and make sure to include something about them in every one of my stories.
